A little bit about Susan
My current work is an exploration of nature, of my place in the world, and my inherent sensitivities to these experiences. Childhood memories of walks in nature and many happy hours of play with a variety of paper samples (my mom worked at a paper company) inspire my work to this day. Nuances in color and the wonder of surprise in close observation continue to intrigue me. I have always felt a great peace and solace in the process of art making. I express my understanding of life through the creation of handmade paper, the activity of painting, and the design of mixed media artwork. My hope is that you too, will find joy in the colors, textures and beauty of this world.
Most of all, Susan Donovan Lowe invites you to be transported into the colors, textures and beauty of this world – in nature itself and through each of her works!
